Let me take you back to a time when I could barely walk. Not exaggerating â I had two herniated discs in my lower back, and moving more than a few feet felt like climbing a mountain. My spine was basically throwing a tantrum. I was in pain, under intense medical care, and honestly, starting to wonder if Iâd ever move freely again.
Â
That period lasted over a year. A very long, slow, humbling year. Western medicine helped, but it didnât heal. So I turned to something ancient and gentle: yoga. I started small â a few breaths, a few stretches, nothing wild. But it planted a seed. A quiet idea that maybe, just maybe, I could rebuild myself from the ground (or mat) up.
Thatâs what brought me to Bali đŽ â chasing healing, sunshine, and a new chapter. It was here that I discovered AcroYoga, and my eyes lit up. Humans flying? Trust, connection, laughter, upside-down joy? Sign. Me. Up. Except⊠my back said no. Absolutely not. Do not pass go. Do not lift people.

But I didnât want to give up. So I improvised. I built a little pillow â soft, but supportive â to ease the pressure on my lower back while practicing. I didnât know it at the time, but I was stitching together the very first prototype of what would become The AcroBack.
People started noticing. âHey, whereâd you get that?â theyâd ask during jams. Iâd shrug and say, âI made it.â âCan I get one?â Sure. And then another. And another. It snowballed in the sweetest, most organic way possible. I wasnât starting a business â I was solving a problem. But apparently, I wasnât the only one with that problem.
Turns out, a lot of us have tight backs, cranky discs, or just want more comfort while flying and basing. So I leaned in. Iâm a creator at heart, a tinkerer, a âwhat if we added this?â kind of person. So I kept improving the design. I added a second layer of foam â one firm, one soft â for that perfect blend of support and squish.
Then came the waterproof outer cover, because let's be honest â Acro gets sweaty. I didnât want that sweat sinking into the foam like a sponge in a rainstorm. I added a strap, so it could stay in place during practice (and double as a sling for travel). Then I made it foldable, and added magnetic closures to keep it tight and tidy.
The brand evolved too. What started as a nameless cushion became The AcroBack â with a logo, a look, and a whole vibe. I wanted it to feel professional but also playful. Because yes, itâs a tool for your spine⊠but itâs also a ticket to joy, freedom, and flight.
Fast forward to now, and Iâve made hundreds and hundreds of AcroBacks. Each one still carries that original intention: to help people feel safe, supported, and uplifted in their bodies. Whether youâve got injuries, stiffness, or just love a little luxury for your lumbar, the AcroBack is for you.
I never imagined a back injury would be the launchpad for a global acroyoga product⊠but hey, life is weird and wonderful like that. Pain became purpose. Limitation became innovation. And now I get to help others fly â literally and metaphorically đïž

And this is just the beginning. Iâve got more ideas, more inventions, and more passion than ever. My mission? To keep creating gear that supports the way we move, play, and connect â one brilliant product at a time.
Thanks for being part of this wild, twisty, back-healing, joy-fueled ride. The AcroBackâs got your back â and so do I đ
