Being a base is a full-body job. You're absorbing weight shifts, dynamic loading, and repeated holds — often for hours at a jam or workshop. Most bases eventually run into the same two issues: tight hamstrings and lower back pain. Neither is inevitable, but both are common enough that it's worth understanding why they happen and what actually helps.
We talked with Dr. Alex Johnson, a chiropractor with extensive experience treating yoga and AcroYoga practitioners, about what's really going on in a base's body during practice.
