International Shipping & Import Taxes

Every Beyond The Mat order is packed and shipped with care directly from our factory in Bali, Indonesia. We love that our community spans the globe — and we want to be upfront about one thing that comes with international shipping so there are no surprises when your order arrives.

What You Might Be Charged

Because your order travels across borders, your country's government may apply import charges when it arrives. These are set entirely by your local customs authority — not by us — and can include:

  • Import duty / customs duty — a tax based on the type and value of the goods.
  • VAT, GST, or local sales tax — your country's consumption tax on imported goods.
  • Customs clearance or handling fees — charged by the carrier (Thedex) for processing your shipment through customs on your behalf.
  • Cash-on-delivery collection fees — an administrative fee some carriers add when collecting duties at the door.

Beyond The Mat does not receive any portion of these charges. Every cent goes directly to your local customs authority or carrier.

Who Is Responsible for These Charges

Import duties, taxes, and any carrier-side clearance fees are the responsibility of the recipient — that's you, the customer. They are not included in your product price or the shipping cost you paid at checkout. They are billed separately, typically by Thedex or your local postal/customs authority, and are usually collected before or at the time of delivery.

If a package is refused or returned to us because import charges were not paid, the original shipping cost and any return or non-recoverable fees may be deducted from any applicable refund.

How Much Will It Be?

Honestly, it depends. Import charges vary by country, product category, and total order value, and we're not able to calculate or predict the exact amount for you — that's between your government and your wallet.

The best thing to do before placing an order is to check with your local customs office, or search for an import duty calculator for your country. A quick search for "[your country] import duty calculator" is usually a good place to start.

Why We're Telling You This

Because surprise charges on your doorstep are not the experience we want you to have. We'd much rather be upfront, even if that means having a slightly awkward conversation before checkout, than leave you wondering what that extra bill is about when your AcroBack arrives.

If you have any questions before you order — or if something unexpected happens with your shipment — reach out to our support team. We'll do our best to help you understand what's happening and point you in the right direction.

Thank you for being part of the Beyond The Mat community. We appreciate your understanding, and we can't wait for your order to reach you.
