WHY THIS TRAINING (AND WHY NOW)
This is the debut Bali edition of The Acro Way x Beyond The Mat. We’re opening the doors to our home base at Moana Wellness Hub before the wider complex fully opens. You’re getting in early—pioneer energy, first tracks on fresh powder, but tropical.
You’ll refine technique, expand teaching chops, and join a tight-knit acro family. You’ll laugh, spot, flow, and learn to lead—all while ringing in the New Year inside a creative playground that feels like Disneyland met Burning Man, decided to be sustainable, and moved to the beach.
THE VENUE: MOANA AT NUANU CREATIVE CITY
Welcome to Moana—a brand-new wellness hub inside Nuanu, Bali’s creative city by the sea. Think large shaded wooden practice deck, 21 glamping huts, botanical and butterfly gardens, art walks, an underground cave, a beach club, restaurants, and an all-electric trolley system that shuttles you around the car-free park.
Yes, it’s outdoors. Yes, it’s nature. Expect jungle soundtrack, occasional rain kisses, and curious insects. The deck is covered for sun and rain, but tropical weather is… tropical. It might get a little wet, muddy, and hilarious. The beach is a short walk away; world-class spa days (hello, Lumeria) and night-time LED nature walks are on the menu.
This is where we’re building a permanent, community-forward home for AcroYoga. You’ll help break the ground—in flips, not shovels.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN (THE CURRICULUM)
Skill & Flow
- Acrobatic sequences, washing machines, and smooth transitions — our bread and butter.
- Whips, pops, Icarian, and Whicarian (a delicious blend of both).
- Trio tricks, group dynamics, and creative calibrations.
- Standing acro, hand-to-hand, and dynamic entries/exits.
- Handstand and balance training — daily practice to refine control and confidence.
Teaching & Leadership
- Sequencing for classes, workshops, festivals, and retreats.
- Adapting for all levels (beginner to advanced and mixed groups).
- Co-teaching and solo-teaching strategies that mirror real class formats.
- Safety, spotting, progressions, and trust-building.
- Community leadership and communication skills that make students feel seen.
Therapeutics & Recovery
- Therapeutic flying and partner massage, guided by Gabi’s background in Thai massage.
- Integration, reflection, and connection sessions to soften after the sweat.
Business & Creative
- Lectures on how to promote yourself authentically—cinematography, social media, and building your acro business sustainably.
- Tools to grow your career, from your first class to your first festival.
Teaching Lineage
- Our foundation is partner acrobatics, not trademarked systems—meaning we draw from the full spectrum of movement arts: washing machines, Icarian, whips, pops, dance lifts, and standing acro.
- As Jacob puts it: “Washing machines give you the sensitivity to move well. You don’t jump straight to whips and pops without learning to dance first.”
PRACTICE TEACHING & FEEDBACK
You’ll teach early and often—because that’s how you truly learn.
We run short 10-minute mini-classes and full 90-minute sessions where you design, teach, and receive direct coaching from Jacob, Gabi, and the facilitator team.
Getting feedback can feel vulnerable at first. You’ll be teaching in front of peers and mentors, learning to project your “teacher voice,” share time equally with your co-teacher, and refine your delivery.
By the end, you’ll see the shift: confident, clear, and creative.
Jacob says it best: “You learn the least by hearing about a move, more by doing it, and the most by teaching it. See it. Do it. Teach it.”
Past cohorts have blown us away—by the final classes, students were teaching combinations and details their mentors hadn’t even thought of. That’s the kind of growth we want to see here in Bali.

MEET YOUR TEACHERS
GABI (Sweden)
Co-founder of AcroYoga Stockholm and The Acro Way TT.
Gabi’s 16 years of community building have shaped her belief that safety is the foundation for joy and growth. She blends strong technique with play, guiding students to teach from confidence and care. Her Thai massage experience brings a therapeutic edge to her teaching, reminding everyone to soften as they soar.
She believes in structure that supports freedom—every class builds safety, trust, and connection. Students describe her as equal parts organized and heart-forward, with a knack for making you feel seen while you’re upside down.
JACOB BROWN (Global)
An acrobat, coach, and movement pioneer known for his creativity and uplifting energy. A former gymnastics instructor with over a decade of coaching experience, Jacob brings laser-sharp precision and lived wisdom to every class.
His teaching philosophy: “See it. Do it. Teach it.” He believes learning happens most through doing, and mastery comes through teaching. Jacob has taught worldwide since 2009, led festivals, and co-founded The Acro Way TT with Gabi.
And yes—legend alert: when he was 19, Jacob fell more than 50 feet over a waterfall in Iceland, landed on rocks, and survived with a broken ankle and a concussion. His recovery was so miraculous that he was featured on international news and the Jimmy Kimmel Live show. That resilience shaped his entire approach to acro: fearless, adaptable, and grateful to still be flying.
Together, Gabi and Jacob are the perfect mix of play and precision. Their sessions are high-energy yet safe, technical yet joyful. You’ll learn to teach with confidence, laugh through the stumbles, and leave with a community that feels like family.
Guest Facilitators (TBA)
Expect additional guest teachers—one from Europe and one from Bali.
Jacob notes that possible guests like Paolo bring deep experience from the European festival circuit, teaching multiple classes daily for years and refining the art of communication through sheer practice.
